The importance of having training in a foreign country is in the necessity of knowing another language and to having an attractive profile for the working market.

48 % of the qualified employment offers already require a new language and professional experience. Living and Working in a foreign country furthermore supposes a personal enrichment and gives an extended point of view which we all should have in a more and more global world.

The unemployment has converted itself in a disease of the actual society which we all intend to solve with divers methods without definite results. For ONECO, factors which contribute the education are the international professional training and the knowledge of foreign languages.

Type of work.- ONECO works with over 300 companies which have already accepted internship students. Jobs are offered in different departments, depending upon the academic studies and C.V. of each participant.

Professional areas.- The ONECO partner will interview each participant individually before the start of the internship and present him/her personally to the company where he/she shall be working. During the professional internship, a tutor representing the ONECO partner visits each participant in the company and helps wherever necessary. Each month, every participant and company is evaluated in order to resolve any problems as soon as possible. At the end of the internship, there is a final evaluation to include the final result of the programme.

Requirements.- Participants must be 18 years old or above, and have an intermediate level of German. Previous experience is not necessary, but if available will help us to select the most adequate professional sector and company. Participants are expected to be motivated, independent, flexible open-minded.

Please note that the position offered is likely to be influenced by the applicants´ previous professional experience and academic level!!!!!

Language requirements.- This is optional. Students with a high level of German may begin the internship directly without needing to participate in a language course. If participants need to improve language skills before the internship, ONECO offers the possibility of studying in approved academies with a maximum of 10 pupils per class.

Other languages.- Some companies require knowledge of other languages, such as English or French.

Social Security.- Every participant must have insurance to cover accident and illness. European Community nationals must bring their EUROPEAN HEALTH INSURANCE CARD. All participants must also pay the compulsory civil liability insurance policy that covers personal liability for the internship and work experience programme. ONECO can provide additional insurance to those participants (EU and non EU) who desire it, via an international company. Non-EU participants must supply their own private insurance.

VISA- very important (non European Community participants).- For students coming from Non-EU countries or those who would normally require a work permit to work in Austria, it is extremely important that they have a full student visa. To obtain this they must:

1.- take a minimum of a 2 week language course with ONECO
2.- state that the programme to be carried out in Austria is that of unpaid professional internship: any payments are discretionary.
3.-obtain a letter from his/her university, college or place of work stating that this training is an integral and essential element of their educational or training programme. Please check all visa requirements with the Austrian Consulate in the participant’s home country.

Other documents.- A copy of the prospective participant’s C.V. is required, along with a motivational letter written in German which sets out previous work experience and what goals are hoped to be achieved through work experience in Austria.   ONECO can offer C.V. or motivational letter templates to participants with a basic level of German.

Cancellations.- Cancellations after the application forms have been sent to ONECO incur a charge of €180. Once the programme has begun, no refund is made. Booking charges cost €50.

Is the practical training recognised?.- As member of FYTO, GWEA and Aseproce the practical training is officially recognised.

Will I be changed from one practical training to another?.- Existing a justified reason, the participant can be changed to another company.

When can I start the practical training?.- Every Monday, all year round.

Can I extend my stay in Austria?.- Yes, if the company agrees the practical training can be extended.
